Feature & Follow #6

Feature and Follow Friday is host by Parajunkee and Allison Can Read and give bloggers a topic to discuss each week while discovering new blogs.

Q: What hyped up book do you think was not worth all the talk?

The whole Twilight series. I've read them all and don't get what the hype was about. Sorry to all the fans.

WWW Wednesday #10

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should Be ReadingTo play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…
• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I started Seraphina by Rachel Hartman as several people said I should on a previous WWW Wednesday post. Some of you would also know that I was struggling with reading Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff on my computer and couldn't get it on my kindle. Well it was released in Australia on the 1st Sept, so I bought it and now I can finally spend time reading it - and hopefully finishing it soon.

What did you recently finish reading?

I finished Crewel by Gennifer Albin which was an enjoyable read but I had a few problems with it. I also finally finished Grace Unexpected by Gale Martin. I've been flat out so I haven't had a chance to write reviews for either of them, nor for Skylark - which I finished last week - but I will have reviews for all three coming up over the next few days.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I have no idea. I have The Shadow Society by Marie Rutkoski for review, as well as The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa. But I also have a huge pile of books sitting here that I have been buying and not getting around to reading. Below is a small snap shot of my bookshelf of books I haven't read yet, and there are 2 books I borrowed from the library that I haven't read either. So I have no idea what I'll read next. With the amount of uni work I have and the exam period fast approaching I wouldn't be surprised if I don't get through Seraphina and Stormdancer for a while yet. =( We will see. I like challenges. ;)

Books featured in above photo: Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein ; Uglies  by Scott Westerfeld ; The Iron King by Julie Kagawa ; Daughter Of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor ; Wither by Lauren DeStefano ; The Forsaken by Lisa Stasse ; Under The Never Sky by Veronica Rossi ; This Is Not A Test by Courtney Summers ; Eon by Alison Goodman ; Glitch by Heather Anastasiu ; Fire by Kristin Cashore ; Everneath by Brodi Ashton ; Spark by Brigid Kemmerer ;; City of Bones by Cassandra Clare ; Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead ; Disharmony by Leah Giarratano

Please leave a comment with your WWW Wednesday. I'd love to hear from you! =)

Teaser Tuesday #10

Firstly, I'd like to apologise if I don't get to comment back straight away. I'm still catching up on my STS comments, and there will probably be delays in my comments for a little while longer. I have a lot of assessments due over the coming weeks for uni and that, of course, has to come first.

Secondly, I want to give a huge THANK YOU to all my lovely followers! I can't believe over 150 people follow me. When I started I didn't think I'd even get 50! You guys are awesome! And to say thank you to you all I want to do a giveaway. I'm not 100% sure when I'll get time to organise it but I promise I'll do one soon. I appreciate every one of you and it's the least I can do for you!

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

" "It has a discriminating ear," observed Orma, a tall, angular acquaintance of my father's who came over often in those days. Orma called me "it" as if I were a dog; I was drawn to his aloofness, the way cats gravitate toward people who'd rather avoid them."
Seraphina by Rachel Hartman, p. 1

I've only just started this and it was chosen thanks to the requests for me to read this on a previous post =)

Stacking The Shelves #8

BOOK HAUL

I am still trying not to buy any more books until I get through some of the ones I have so I only have a small haul again this week. =)

Purchased
I was having problems reading the eArc I received and since Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff was released in Australia at the beginning of the month I bought it. Now I have no reason to read it! And the cover is gorgeous! The title is raised and glossy. The red leaves and model are glossy as well. The rest is matte. I couldn't leave it alone when I got it. This photo does not do the cover justice!!

Read an excerpt of Stormdancer thanks to Tor.

Kindle Freebie
I got a few freebie's from Amazon this week as well.

Leave me a comment and share the goodies you got this week, I'd love to know! =)

Feature & Follow #5

Feature and Follow Friday is host by Parajunkee and Allison Can Read and give bloggers a topic to discuss each week while discovering new blogs.

Q: What are you reading right now? How do you like it?

Currently I'm reading Crewel by Genniger Albin. I'm only 12% through it and although loads of people love this, I'm struggling to get interested in it. I have a lot of uni work over the coming weeks and exams in Nov so it might not be the book, it might be me stressing out. I'll see when I get this current essay out of the way.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should Be ReadingTo play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…
• What are you currently reading?

• What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?
I'm reading an ARC of Crewel by Gennifer Albin.

What did you recently finish reading?
I finished Skylark by Meagan Spooner. I really enjoyed Skylark, but I haven't had the chance to write my review yet. I'm hoping to get my review up for it tomorrow.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I'll either read Seraphina by Rachel Hartman or my ARC of The Shadow Society by Marie Rutkoski. It will depend on what grabs my attention most when I finish Crewel. =)

"But somehow I do keep moving forward, farther into darkness, until cold steel clamps down on my leg. I scream as it digs into my skin and beings drawing me back - back to the light and the men in boots, back to the Guild." - Loc 188 5%, Crewel by Gennifer Albin

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should Be ReadingTo play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

What are you currently reading?

I'm currently reading Skylark by Meagan Spooner. Also, I hate to admit this but I'm still trying to finish off Grace Unexpected by Gale Martin as well. It's not that it isn't a good book, it's just that I don't feel like reading it. I want something more action packed.

What did you recently finish reading?

I recently finished Starters by Lissa Price and I loved it. My review is here

I also finished The Archived  by Victoria Schwab sneak peek eARC I received via netgalley. It's fantastic so far. The sneak peek was only 100 pages and I'm dying to read more of it!! I'll be putting up a brief review of the sneak peek in the not too distant future.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I'll most probably read Seraphina by Rachel Hartman or Crewel by Gennifer Albin.

Please leave a comment with your WWW Wednesday. I'd love to hear from you! =)

"I should have noticed something was wrong. Even though the cleaner chamber was receding further and further behind me, the sound of machinery remained. The humming grew louder as I walked, but I was so relieved at my escape that I didn't give it a second's thought.
And so when I reached an intersection of the tunnels and rounded the corner to come face to face with a pixie, I could do nothing but stare stupidly."

p. 12 Skylark by Meagan Spooner

Feature & Follow Friday #3

Feature and Follow Friday is host by Parajunkee and Allison Can Read and give bloggers a topic to discuss each week while discovering new blogs.

Q: Worst cover? What is the worst cover of a book that you've read and loved?.

That's a hard one. I can't think of the worst cover but the two that I can think of because they are inaccurate and bother me come to mind. Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa because the girl on the cover isn't Asian, but the main character of the book is of Asian descent. A similar thing for One Breath Away by Heather Gudenkauf as the girl on the cover looks much younger than a 13 yr old.

I still love the books, but I'm sorry to say, the covers could have been better. =(
