Feature & Follow #7 / Friday Book Blogger Hop #8

Feature and Follow Friday is host by Parajunkee and Allison Can Read and give bloggers a topic to discuss each week while discovering new blogs.

Q: What hyped up book was worth all of the fuss?

Harry Potter! One of my favourite series and definitely worth the hype. People of all ages read it. .... I know, because it was my 60 odd yr old uncle in Germany that sent me the Order of Phoenix as I hadn't read the series yet. He use to read it on the bus to and from work. And I got my niece to read it and she wasn't a reader but she read all of them and loved them.

This weeks question:

What is one thing that your blog readers probably do not know about you?

Umm, I don't think it is common knowledge, but I'm married and we have a son who turns 4 in Nov.
For another thing people wouldn't have known about me is above in my Feature and Follow post. That is that my Uncle who was in his 60's got me into reading Harry Potter. LOL.

There you go, that's two random things. =)

Friday Book Blogger Hop #7

This weeks question:

What is the one book or series you are dying to see turned into a movie or tv series?

That's a hard one. There are a couple that come to mind that would make a good movie.
I'll have to say Storm by Brigid Kemmerer, or Divergent & Insurgent by Veronica Roth.

This weeks question:

What is the one genre you will NEVER read?
Generally I don't read romance/erotica or religious books. I'm just not interested in either topic.

Friday Book Blogger Hop #5

This weeks question:

Who is your go-to author when you are in a reading rut?

I haven't really been in a rut this year, but I've started reading a different genre of books this year so that might be why. I use to go for a light read prior to this year, and that was Sophie Kinsella.

Friday Book Blogger Hop #4

This weeks question:

When a book goes “viral” (Hunger Games, Fifty Shades, Twilight), do you rush out to read it like everyone else, even if it’s not in your typical genre?

No, not generally. The Hunger Games was probably the only exception and it was because I don't like to see a movie until after I have read the book. I really wanted to see the movie so I read the trilogy a couple of weeks before the movie. The Hunger Games is a genre that I read though.

This weeks question:

What is one thing that your blog readers probably do not know about you?

My answer:
That's a little easy!
One thing that everyone would probably not know is that I'm married and have a nearly 4 year old son. =)

Friday Book Blog Hop #2

This weeks question:

What’s the ONE super-hyped book you’ll NEVER read?

My Answer:
I don't think I would never read a book just because it's super-hyped up. That's not to say I'm going to automatically like the book, or automatically hate it. I would want to read it, hyped or not, so I can read it, and then form my own opinion on it.

Friday Book Blog Hop #1

This weeks question:

How long does it take you to read a book?

Me - Well, it depends. Some books I can read within a few hours. Others, a day, a few days, or longer. Majority of books I read over a couple of days, mainly due to other commitments, with only a few hours at night to read. If a book completely absords me, I'll complete it quicker, those that don't drag out longer. SOme books I'll even put aside for a while because it takes too long to get through it, and I'd prefer to put it aside rather than have it as a DNF. Sometimes a break is all it needs.
Needles to say, it also depends on my mood when I select what to read. :)

So, what about you?
