I'm excited to have an interview with Victoria H. Smith, the author of The Crimson Hunt, to share with you. I hope you enjoy and check out The Crimson Hunt book details further down  the post. There is even a giveaway at the end of the post where you have a chance to win one (1) of ten (10) ebook copies of The Crimson Hunt.

Welcome Victoria. I'm glad to have you here today.
For those not familiar with The Crimson Hunt, please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.

If you’re looking for a book that keeps you constantly guessing about what’s about to happen next—and filled with a whole lot of lovin’—then The Crimson Hunt is for you!

Well that does sound good! Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?

I just finished my NA contemporary romance called, The Space Between. That’s set to release March 18th. I have many future projects, lol. The Crimson Hunt is the first book of a trilogy with a few novellas. Currently, the sequel and one of the novellas is done. I will be editing those, then putting those out late summer/ early fall.

You have been busy, and sound like you have many more books ahead of you. What inspired you to want to become a writer?

I pretty much wanted something to read, something I could relate to as a twenty something who was in grad school. I went in search of books like that and wasn’t finding much so I decided to write a book for fun. Three weeks later, I had The Crimson Hunt. While in the process of publishing it, new adult evolved around me. I’m very grateful for that and love the category :-)

Ok, a few fun questions, If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you?

My husband, a mobile phone with stellar 3G, and a way to get water.

If you could jump into a book, and live in that world.. which would it be?

Harry Potter. It all just seems so magical!

What is your favorite quote?

“But for now, let me say - Without hope or agenda – Just because it’s Christmas - And at Christmas you tell the truth - To me, you are perfect…” – Love Actually

Title: The Crimson Hunt
Author: Victoria H. Smith
Series: Eldaen Light Chronicles, #1
Publication date: November 8th 2012

Synopsis
College junior Ariel Richmond is working on year three of Project Normalcy.

Her house reeks of keggers past and her bestie is just a slight bit vulgar. But the thing is—they both aid in making life refreshingly uneventful.

So much for hard-earned mediocrity when Luca Grinaldi appears on the scene.

Luca’s sudden presence on campus is hard to ignore. Those bright eyes act like a beacon to unsuspecting females, and with features like his, he’s got to be moonlighting for GQ. Luca hopelessly captivates Ariel with his confidence and charisma, but the mysteries surrounding him make him nearly untouchable. And just when Ariel grows close enough to unlock his secrets, a tragic event sends her life in a downward spiral.

That steady life is no longer an option and allies quickly become scarce. The mysterious Luca seems to be the only one willing to help her—but with that trust comes the burden of his secrets. He has a dark mission of otherworldly proportions, and is willing to sacrifice as many lives as it takes to see it completed.

Gone are the days of simply maintaining normalcy, and if Ariel isn’t cautious with her trust, so soon may be her future.

 Excerpt
I continued my rigorous review of the material. But as the night went on, I didn’t gain much ground. There were about fifteen chapters in the first half of the semester’s lectures. I was only up to chapter eight. There’d never be enough time for me to get them down pat before the midterm tomorrow. I wanted to cry at the thought. Laying my head in my textbook, I hoped the words would materialize into my brain.
“I think the book works better if you are actually reading it.” A gentle laugh accompanied the words.I jolted, startled by Luca’s sudden appearance. I quickly raised my head, hoping to God there weren’t any page marks indented into my face. I rubbed my eyes, and Luca’s beautiful face appeared before me. “Don’t be so mean. I’m stressing out here. The midterm is tomorrow.” I said this though I didn’t really mind that he poked fun at me. It was really cute to see him joke.
I couldn’t help but notice how hot he looked tonight with his strong build lining his t-shirt. He should never cover his beauty with clothes and such things. He also wore a heather-gray carpenter jacket. I hoped my cardigan was enough for the weather when I left tonight.“I was not trying to be cruel. I was just stating a fact.” He laughed again and sat on the edge of the table.
I smiled, his laugher bringing my anxiety down a bit.
“What are you caught up on? May I be of any use?”There were a lot of things he could help me with at this point, but none of them had to do with Zoology.
