Summer Lovin’ Read-a-Thon: Day 7

Today’s Participation discussion is…
Graduation Day!
List your accomplishments, big and small.
Did you make some new friends? Call them out.
Then hop around and congratulate the other participants on their successes.
I wanted to read at least 4 books but I couldn't even manage that. I'm a little disappointed but there isn't much that can be done about it.
Currently ReadingUnravelling, by Elizabeth Norris & Dare You To by Katie McGarry
Pages read: 506
Books readThe Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith, Pivot Point by Kasie West

I've chatted with a few people (and I owe some people some comments - I'll be there soon! Promise!!), I wish I could have spent more time on Twitter getting to know everyone but it was one of those weeks where I just haven't had much time.

Summer Lovin’ Read-a-Thon: Day 5

Today’s Participation discussion is…
Book Shimmies!
Share your progress – How many books have you read so far? Have you gotten off track? What are your plans for the rest of the read-a-thon?
Let’s take a minute to support each other! Jump through the linky list and show your fellow readers some comment love.
So far I have only completed one book - Pivot Point by Kasie West. I'm 20% into Dare You To and on page 34 of The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight
I haven't had much free time and I've been so tired so I'm way behind on what I wanted to read during the Read-A-Thon. I'll now be happy if I can complete the 2 I've started. That's only 3 books in total - I read the same amount over a 4 day read-a-thon so that's a bit sad. There isn't much I can do though, I can't change the things that I've had to do.  I only have tonight and the weekend left so I'll be happy enough if I finish these 2.

Summer Lovin’ Read-a-Thon: Day 4 & Update

Today’s Participation discussion is…
Share the Feels!
Share a quote from your current read or
Share a book that really pulled on your heart strings
“Hadley grabs the laminated safety instructions from the seat pocket in front of her and frowns at the cartoon men and women who seem weirdly delighted to be bailing out of a series of cartoon planes. Beside her, Oliver stifles a laugh, and she glances up again.
“What?”
“I’ve just never seen anyone actually read one of those things before,”
“Well,” she says, “then you’re very lucky to be sitting next to me.”
“Just in general?”
She grins. “Well, particularly in case of an emergency.”
“Right,” he says. “I feel incredibly safe. When I’m knocked unconscious by my tray table during some sort of emergency landing, I can’t wait to see all five-foot-nothing of you carry me out of here.”
― Jennifer E. SmithThe Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, p.45

Update:

I have been having a fairly busy week and haven't read much (nor have I really felt like it), and I have been so tired I barely read a word in bed. I'm hoping to get more read over the next few days, but it's not looking promising either. :( I was hoping to get so much more read this week.

Summer Lovin' Read-a-thon Day Two & Update

Today’s Participation discussion is…
Must-Have Summer Reads
Tell us which books are on the top of your must-have summer reads list. They can be books you've read and recommend others to read, or books you want to read.
I don't normally seek summer themed books to read. I'm a mood reader, and it depends what I feel like reading.

Over my summer winter break (it's only 3 weeks long) I'm looking forward to reading some books that have been on my shelf for a while, plus some review books:

Tumble & Fall by Alexandra Coutts
Contaminated by Em Garner
Prep School Confidential by Kara Taylor
Dare You To by Katie McGarry
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris

Recommendations for summer reads:

Not A Drop To Drink by Mindy McGinnis
The Ward by Jordana Frankel
Pivot Point by Kasie West

And if you are inclined to adult books/chick lit - anything by Sophie Kinsella. They are a light and humorous read.

Update:

Tuesday
Currently Reading: I'm STILL currently reading Pivot Point (It's a slow start - lack of reading time so far this week)

Day 1: Class Orientation (Introduce Yourself)

Hello everyone! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Sabina, and I'm in my early 30's (I'm in denial which is why I don't say my age!). I live outside of Brisbane, in Australia. I'm currently at University studying a dual degree in Business and Law, which takes up a lot of my time. The rest of my time is spent with my son.
I've been reading since I was young. I can't remember what got me into reading, I just know that I spent a lot of time reading at night before bed. My mother is a big reader too so that most likely has a lot to do with it.

I read both YA and adult books, sometimes NA. The past year (since I've been blogging/ found Goodreads)  I've been mainly reading YA. I love Sci Fi and Fantasy, especially dystopian/
apocalyptic/post apocalyptic. I recently started reading more contemporary and have been really enjoying it too.
My Goal: 4 books. Depends how much free time I get.

Books to Read:
I'm not sure what I will read, whether it be review books, library books I recently got, or books that have been sitting on my shelf for ages that I really should have read by now.

Possible ones are:
Tumble & Fall by Alexandra Coutts
Contaminated by Em Garner
Prep School Confidential by Kara Taylor
Dare You To by Katie McGarry
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris

Update:

Monday
Currently Reading: I'm currently reading Pivot Point (I read 73 pages before today, so I wont count that).

Challenge:

 #1: Teaser Tidbits

Pivot Point by Kasie West

I shake my head as if she can see me. "No, that's not true. He fits all the criteria of a male best friend."
"Okay, I'll play. What are the criteria of a male best friend?"

Ok, Ok, I know that's not two sentences, but it was hard to find just two sentences that made any sense. So part of a phone call will have to do. :p
